Happy Review | 2026 Dragon Boat Festival Scramble
2026-07-20

The core spirit of Dragon Boat is work together and forge ahead. And that's the spirit of Dragon Boat Festival Scramble.

On June 27th, Foshan Golf Club kicked off its first fun tournament of the summer—the Dragon Boat Festival Scramble! Now entering its 15th year since its debut, this event has long been a firm favourite among members and guests. Every year, registration fills up quickly with overwhelming popularity, establishing it as one of the Club's signature exclusive member tournaments. It delivers consistent warmth of reunion and competitive joy to participants year after year.
Thirty-four teams gathered on the green for this year's event, blending the fiery spirit of dragon boat racing with the elegant sport of golf. Held under the theme of Dragon Boat Golf, the tournament welcomed over a hundred members and guests to tee off side by side and exchange skills. The competition was packed with thrilling highlights and unforgettable moments that lingered long after play concluded.

Sign-in Ceremony

The Club prepared 34 custom dragon boat-shaped stickers, one for each participating team. Team members picked up pens to write down their unique team names and sign every member's name, then affixed the dragon boat stickers filled with their team's wishes onto the backdrop one by one.

This backdrop covered with signed dragon boat stickers set a pre-emptive atmosphere of solidarity and collective striving for the tournament. Many golfers stopped to take photos, capturing exclusive mementos of their respective teams.

Tee-off Ceremony

The tee-off ceremony kicked off with a rousing traditional drum performance, whose deep, resounding beats echoed across the golf course.

At the center of the putting green rests a giant dragon boat. Boasting a gilded dragon head and sleek hull, it stood out as the most distinctive photo spot of the event. Members and golfers flocked to take pictures beside the installation, capturing one-of-a-kind shots blending dragon boat culture with golf.

During the group tee-off ceremony, captains of all 34 teams lined up around the giant dragon boat installation. At the host's signal, everyone swung their clubs simultaneously, putting golf balls toward the dragon boat. This collective tee-off replaced traditional paddling in dragon boat racing, symbolizing forging ahead through wind and waves and striving side by side for victory.

Had golf fun with family and friends!

The fastest team challenge

On the course, every team divided tasks in perfect harmony and cooperated seamlessly. Some players delivered precise tee shots, others moved quickly to cover positions, and the rest focused intently on putting. All teams gave their all to complete the round in the shortest possible time.

Scenes of running, swinging clubs and high-fiving in celebration unfolded one after another. Speed, golf skills and teamwork intertwined perfectly. Through the competition, all participants grasped the core spirit of dragon boat events: united as one and striving fearlessly for the lead.

Work together and forge ahead make the Fastest Team.

Award Dinner

As night fell gently, the lively yet elegant awards dinner officially commenced.
The opening percussion piece Dragons Soar and Tigers Leap took the stage first. A landmark work of Chinese folk percussion, it features powerful, resonant rhythms and magnificent momentum. The drumbeats build layer upon layer, fully embodying the heroic spirit of dragon boat racing.

The classic guzheng melody The Quiet Night followed, offering the audience a serene and timeless audio-visual delight. The warm, mellow tones of the guzheng, paired with its undulating melody, paint a unique romance inherent to Chinese aesthetics.

Trainee caddies of the Club took the stage together to deliver a heartfelt rendition of Blooming Brilliantly originally performed by Zhou Shen. The song interprets the drive to forge ahead while staying true to one's original aspiration, standing unbowed amid setbacks and growing toward the light, which resonates deeply with the spirit of sportsmanship.

This group performance fully showcased the vibrant demeanor of the new generation of trainee caddies at Foshan Golf Club. Full of enthusiasm and original aspirations, they devote themselves to learning and honing their craft on a daily basis. With a diligent and positive mindset, they keep refining their skills and enriching themselves. Their clear yet powerful singing voices embody their youthful spirit of embracing challenges and clinging to their passion. All members and golf guests present could truly feel the vitality brought by this new cohort of caddies.
